Nuala's King's Missiliers AoA by Merwenna Nuala's King's Missiliers AoA by Merwenna
Based on the Taymouth Hours, England, c. 1325-1340

I reeeeally like this style. And I was very excited to do a scroll for a lady archer, so I could use this source. Made for Atlantia's Holiday Faire in 2010.

Painted with watercolors and gouache on Bristol.

I just noticed this again and.. hmm. I kind of like that outfit in the picture and that's right around my time period (or a little earlier maybe, I haven't 100% pinned it down). linky the source?

I had to admit, when I saw this, I just *had* to look up the Taymouth Hours. I feel like a kid in a candy store! Along with this and the Luttrell Psalter, it's my favourite "style" of illuminations, especially when it has beasts and hybrids in the borders :)
